Custom Orange Lantern

I've done some Orange Lantern-inspired designs in the past, but this one is very fun, because it includes the awesome Kyle Rayner-esque sleeve details.
And you may be asking who is the awesome guy who conceived such an great design, and it modeling it so nicely?
None other than the man behind Comicbooked!
Seriously, check it out.

Batgirl Stephanie Brown Hoodie

Just a quickie this week.
Every once in a blue moon I get to make something for myself to keep. I've had so much fun working on  this Batgirl costume, I thought it would make a great hoodie. It was also a fun way to experiment with the glow in the dark fabric.

It's simple, purple ribbed side panels and glow in the dark symbol and bat ears.
Those it's been largely too hot to wear it!
To all those who will be attending SDCC next week have a blast and I wanna see pictures!

Tron Hoodie

The quest for the perfect Tron inspired garment continues......as you probably know, I've been doing some work with EL wire which is great, but has it's limitations. EL wire isn't very durable, and can render a garment unwashable if permanently affixed.
The answer: blue glow in the dark fabric!
Glows amazingly bright when "charged" in full sunlight, and is totally washable. I haven't used these fabrics for long, so I'll update how they hold up over time.

Green Lantern Movie Jacket

I was asked to design this jacket inspired by Hal's costume from the Green Lantern movie.
This idea seemed totally daunting to me at first, mostly because the costume doesn't really exist! Oh CGI movies! How is an actor supposed to play a superhero without the costume??
Ryan Reynolds has nothing on you!
With some thought I came up with this jacket that I (and the wearer- who looks awesome!) enjoyed. As you can see there is a lot of detailed stitching on the jacket, which is stitched with glow in the dark thread for maximum awesomeness.

Blue Lantern

It's been quite awhile since the last post!
One may think that I have not been working on anything- but in fact the opposite is true. I have been sewn an incredible amount of things in June-July and moved to Virginia just recently.
I will slowly be posting all the projects from this summer, while setting up my new, improved design studio here in VA.

So onto Blue Lantern:
This is based on the Saint Walker character.

Kyle Rayner Strikes Again

Happy New Year! Before I get to Kyle, I just wanted to say it's coming up one year of this blog.  I already have a lot of fun things in the pipeline for this year- so thanks for looking, hope you enjoy!

Once I began learning about Kyle Rayner, I immediately became enamored with this version of the costume and just needed an excuse to make it.
Luckily, my pal Ryan gave me such an excuse.
Cool, no?
